Hi all!
We are shaking things up a little bit this year for our annual tournament supporting the fight against breast cancer. For the past several years, our tournament has benefited Susan G Komen’s Race for the Cure. This year, we are working with a local organization, the Gina McReynolds Foundation. In early 2012, the Gina McReynolds Foundation, a non-profit organization, was formed and held its first fundraising event to raise money to offset some of the expenses incurred by the McReynolds family while Gina battled breast cancer. In June of 2012, Gina lost her battle, leaving behind her husband and 3 small children. Since then, in honor and remembrance of Gina, the Foundation has continued raising funds to provide financial support and financial counseling to breast cancer patients and their families. Very Important Information for our tournament this year:
Date : October 17, 2015
Time: 8:30 AM Shotgun start
Format: Two best ball of the foursome (must have valid handicaps).
You can put your own foursome together or sign up as a single or twosome and you will be paired up by the Pro Shop.
Prizes: First prize for Low Gross Team
First prize for Low Net Team
Closest to the pin on all par 3’s
Longest drive for men and for women
Cost: Members: $50 (tournament entry fee, range balls, and lunch) plus normal golf/cart fees
Outside Players: $90 (tournament entry fee, golf, range balls, and lunch)
This year the tournament will be open to outside players and the field is limited to 120. The field will be filled on a first come first serve basis. In order to reserve your spot and streamline the check-in process the morning of the tournament, we are requesting that players sign up and pay the entry fee prior to the tournament. Attached is the entry form for the tournament. Please complete the form and return to Jeanette Field or the Pro Shop along with your payment on or before Monday, October 12th.
We will be selling raffle tickets again this year and the proceeds will go to the Gina McReynolds Foundation If you want raffle tickets (and you know that we always have great gift cards/certificates for golf, local restaurants and merchants), bring cash or a check made out of the Gina McReynolds Foundation. Raffle ticket prices are: $5.00 for two tickets; $10.00 for five tickets; and $20.00 for 12 tickets.
Sponsorships are available for $100, $250, or $500. If you donate $100 by October 5th, you will have a sponsor sign on one of the tees. A donation of $250 will provide a tee sign and entry fee for 2 players. A $500 donation will provide the tee sign and entry fee for 4 players. Please contact Jeanette Field or Karen Koi if you are interested in being a sponsor.
Please mark your calendar. We are encouraging all members to play in this tournament (and invite their friends from outside Timacuan) in support of this organization and the fight against breast cancer.
