Officers

SECTION 1 – OFFICERS
The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Tournament Director shall be elected at the regular scheduled meeting of the Men’s Association during the month of October. The terms shall be for one year.

SECTION 2 – ELECTION REGULATIONS

  • Nomination of candidates for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Tournament Director shall be nominated by:
  1. The nominating committee at the meeting prior to the meeting of elections
  2. Any member and a second from the floor at the meeting prior to the meeting of the election
  3. To be eligible to run, the nominee must signify his willingness to hold office.
  • The vote shall be by written or verbal ballot at a regular scheduled meeting. A candidate must receive a majority vote of the members present to be elected. Upon election, the new officers will take office at the next meeting.
  • Election shall be held in October following the Scramble Finals Event.

SECTION 3 - PRESIDENT
The President shall have the following powers and duties

  • Preside at regular scheduled meetings of the Men’s Association.
  • To appoint such committee members as shall in his judgment be necessary, and to designate the chairman thereof.
  • The President shall not vote unless his vote is needed to break a tie.
  • To sign checks authorized by the Men’s Association

 

SECTION 4 – VICE PRESIDENT
The duties and powers of the Vice President shall be:

  • Preside at meetings where the President is absent
  • Serve as Sergeant at Arms should it become necessary or upon the President’s request
  • Manage the photograph library in the Men’s Locker Room for all “Major” events in the T.M.G.A Event Calendar. Major events are defined as the Timacuan Member/Member, Member Guest, Ryder Cup, and Club Championship tournaments.

 

SECTION 5 – SECRETARY
The duties and powers of the Secretary shall be;

  • To take minutes at all regular scheduled meetings and other meetings at which the officers are presiding
  • Preside over meetings at which the President and Vice President are absent
  • Take roll and attendance and handle all correspondence of the Men’s Association
  • To take the Treasurer’s job should he be absent
  • To sign checks authorized by the Men’s Association

 

SECTION 6 – TREASURER
The duties and powers of the Treasurer shall be:

  • To keep, or cause to keep, the account of the Men’s Association, and collect all monies belonging to or due to the Men’s Association
  • To sign checks and make payments authorized by the Men’s Association
  • To submit a financial report to the men’s association at every meeting
  • To take the secretary’s job should he be absent.

SECTION 7 – TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
The duties and powers of the Tournament Director shall be:

  • To review and approve all tournaments proposed by the Tournament Chairperson and each tournament
  • To see that all tournaments provide a fair and equitable format for all levels of participants
  • To see that all tournament chairpersons have met with the designated Pro Shop representative at least 30 days prior to each event.
  • To see that all financial distributions are clearly identified and distributed for each event
  • To see that event format, participation, and financial recap has been recorded for further review.
  • To ensure each member participating in the T.M.G.A event is current on dues and eligible to participate.

 

SECTION 8 – PROSHOP/GOLF CLUB ADVISOR
The duties and powers of the Pro shop/Golf Club Advisor shall be:

  • To communicate the requests and needs of the Association to management
  • To advise the Association on their events to keep them fair, equitable, and enjoyable for all involved
  • To help administrate the events within the boundaries and responsibilities of management
  • The position shall be at all meetings or appoint a replacement in the event they cannot attend.
